What is the difference between an overbed table and an overchair table?

The principal difference is where each is used. One is used to go over a bed; the other is to go over the arm of a chair. Both serve a practical purpose: allowing independent activities such as eating, drinking, jigsaws, writing, etc.

Over the bed, the table slides under the bed and over the bulk of the resident; typically, almost three-quarters of a single bed will be covered by the table.

The overchair table also provides excellent coverage; they tend to be lighter and have a shallower bottom foot, as this needs to slide under the edge profile of the chair.

Do the overbed tables have castors?

Yes. Our height‑adjustable over‑bed tables are compatible with profiling and adjustable care head loads. The adjustable leg frames allow the table height to be lowered below the seat, and we also provide casters on several of our models to ensure they move easily over surfaces and are as accessible as possible.
